At Tierney, we actively look for opportunities to make more meaningful connections and contributions within our community. In 2023 Tierney reached out to the School District of Philadelphia’s Office of Strategic Partnerships and, through a series of highly collaborative conversations, agreed to a long-term partnership with the teachers and students at Jules E. Mastbaum High School. Mastbaum is a Career and Technical Education high school in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia that offers career-readiness programs in graphic design and video production, among others.

Our partnership mission is to bring creative-specific skills and job coaching to students, fostering their natural passion and building momentum for their future careers. We kicked off the partnership mid-school year in January 2023 with creative coaching sessions at Mastbaum and concluded with a field trip to Tierney’s center city office, giving students a look at the “day in the life” of professional advertising and marketing creatives — specifically graphic designers, producers, and video editors.
